Should You Wear Running Shoes For The Triathlon Cycle?

Well the quick answer is that you should always wear cycling shoes for triathlon. Cycling shoes help to transfer more power through the pedal and allow you to ride with a more efficient pedal stroke. By riding with cycling shoes you are giving yourself the best chance of putting in an awesome time.

However I know that a lot of people getting into cycling for the first time simply can’t afford to buy a pair of cycling shoes on top of all the other equipment that you need to take part so they have no option other than to buy running shoes to cycle in.

I also know that when you are first taking part in triathlon you might not want to commit to a lot of equipment.

You can wear running shoes for the bike leg of a triathlon and you wont lose that much time, however you must practice riding you bike before hand in your running shoes to give yourself the best chance of posting a quick bike split.
